About

In 2011 sushi master Yukio Ozeki and head chef Murray Wiblin joined forces to create Britomart eatery Ebisu - a modern take on the Japanese izakaya.

The duo's one-two punch of classic Japanese and European training result in Ebisu's mix of new-style sushi and sashimi as well as traditional Japanese dishes, all in the gorgeously slick surroundings of the high-stud dining room.

Grab some friends, order up a variety of tasty dishes to share, and wash it all down with some sake or shochu from their lengthy selection.

Great food and atmosphere

Delicious food. Great service/general vibes

Two very happy Americans finding a great sushi spot in the water.

Delicious japanese food - perfect for a date night!

Prepare to open your wallet for a night out at Ebisu but know that you will never, ever be disappointed by this smart, expansive Britomart beauty. Fusing delicate Japanese flavours with a clever European twist, this is the place to go with a group of die-hard foodies because it’s shared plate territory. The two best shared dishes served up by legendary sushi master Yuki Ozeki and head chef Murray Wiblin have to be the crisp soft shell crab with delicious orange ponzu sauce ($20) and the tuna ceviche salad with yuzu lemon dressing ($24). For mains, it’s pretty hard to go past free range teriyaki chicken with furikake rice rolls ($34).

Every mouthful is devine, plus great busy and happening atmosphere.

All round amazing, my monies more on these guys than masu for sure. Delish. #datenightspecial

YUM! Thats all I can say. Lunch menu amazing too

Modern style Japanese in a very elegant setting in Britomart. What's not to love!

Came here recently for a joint birthday dinner and it was the best decision that day. Nearly missed it due to the small hidden entrance but glad we did see it. We were lucky and got there before it got packed- which it did, as we continued our steady stream of dishes. It is a lovely neat, clean space and we were lucky to get a couch and small table near the windows by the water. Had a great waitress who helped us order, and kept drinks topped up consistently. Amazing service. We shared the edamame which was a great starter before the beautiful platter of new style mixed sashimi came out. It was beautiful and tasted amazing. The duck spring rolls went down great and the crisp soft shell crab was very well done. Had to get dessert after reading the exceptional menu and chose the yuzu brulee which went down easily and too quickly. Would love to take another person here for dinner for an unforgettable, sensational gustation experience!
