For someone who has never tried chicken and waffles, this blew my mind; 100% guaranteed it will blow yours too! This southern fried chicken is absolutely beautiful, it has just the right amount of crispiness and not a lot of grease! The chive waffle is something awesome, I’ve never had a savoury waffle, and I’ll never go back! These two components along with the poached egg and the chilli hollandaise marry so well together!
Elixir is a special café that is definitely unique with its own style; but everyone absolutely loves it, rain or shine, lunch or dinner! First of all, the coffee there is to die for, it always tastes high quality. Second, they are always jam packed at lunchtime on any day of the week so maybe plan in advance and get nab a table early. They also do BYO after 7pm and have live bands to accompany your delicious dinner!
Elixir is an all-time favourite. All the locals here know they can come to this place, which opens till late, and get excellent dessert every time. I cannot stop raving on about their baked New York cheesecake, it will forever hold a place in my heart as the thing that got me addicted to Elixir. The atmosphere inside has a really good vibe to it and makes you think you’re in some cool New York bar listening to your favourite band play. Try the cheesecake with a coffee and you’ll be returning for more soon enough.
Located almost right next door to Event Cinema, Elixir cafe is the best little place to go before or after the movies for dinner or a late night dessert. They make the best baked New York Cheesecake I have ever tried, pair that with a delicious meal and a caramel latte and you’re all set for a great night in. Elixir like to used free range, locally sourced and sustainable products, creating an experience of home away from home. You can bring along the kids for lunch time as there is a kids menu and they even host live bands at night and allow BYO after 6pm.
