A biggish Farmers, the Lynmall branch seems to be having a partial refurb at the moment. We found the staff to be welcoming, friendly and helpful - it makes all the difference. They stock furniture upstairs and have a great range of childrens toys - always worth a look when there's a sale on. The menswear is ok, a decent selection but perhaps an overabundance of every conceivable shade of grey. There's also a decent separation between the menswear and the lingerie section - nothing worse than trying to decide between a cardigan or a sweater and suddenly finding yourself surrounded by ladies undergarments. I always used to chuckle when I saw Farmers because it's actually cockney rhyming slang for haemorrhoids. If I didn't have piles of respect for Robert Laidlaw, I'd make more of it.
I've always liked farmers but I've been more and more impressed over the years at the quality improvements over the years. I went perusing around the womans department recently and was really quite pleased by alot that i saw. In fact one of my favourite all time flattering dresses (even made the cut to my fab weekend at The Langham) was purchased from Farmers. Good labels with Calvin Klein, Jigsaw, Hero plus more... Well worth a look when sick of super uber-priced articles elsewhere which just don't look right on you!
Sometimes the staff are great (especially in the women’s clothing department) everywhere else you will be lucky to find someone to serve you or help. Really odd there are so many counters and you often have to walk around the whole store to find one that is attended. Especially frustrating when it is busy and there are lots of people waiting around
