One of our most beautiful, vast and wild places, Fiordland National Park (established in 1952) has spectacular ice-carved fiords, lakes and valleys, rugged granite tops and pristine mountain to sea vistas.

Fiordland National Park is special not only in New Zealand but is also internationally recognised as part of Te Wāhipounamu - South West New Zealand World Heritage Area.

You can experience this region’s wild beauty through attractions such as the journey to Milford Sound along the Milford Road, the Great Walks (Kepler Track, Milford Track and Routeburn Track) and more.

For a true New Zealand experience, a visit to the Fiordland National Park is a must. The Visitor Centre has all the info you need to make the most out of your unique Kiwi experience, so make sure you visit there before putting on those hiking boots and hitting the tracks!

Fiordland National Park is a relatively new park, established in the 1950s. It is the perfect park for exploring New Zealand how it used to be (hundreds of years ago!). I love this park because it’s the "face" of NZ, the place that is shown in all the tourism adverts overseas!

Now it might be a drive away – but if the skies have opened and you’re lost for inspiration for activities, an incredible sight awaits you at Milford Sound! Picturesque mountains laden with rock that cascade with waterfalls in every direction is a sight that will inspire and leave you breathless. If you desire more than the sights you can see at the Visitor Centre, board on of their short cruises that take you up close to the action – under waterfalls, into the hidden crevices of the Sound, and out to view the exquisite Mitre Peak in all its glory. See for yourself why Milford Sound truly is the most beautiful location in New Zealand.
