Garnet Station has great "homemade" food, excellent coffee and friendly fast service, but it also has a quirky, individual style with an atmosphere that sets it apart from the crowd.
This stand alone vintage shop at the top of Garnet Rd with a giant coffee cup on the roof and a big rainbow flag fluttering in the wind has an intimate shop frontage that opens up into the cafes large comfy lounge, and then carries on into a tongue 'n' groove double dining room behind. The coffee and meat are organic, the eggs free range, salads vegetarian, crockery retro, wi fi, chat and brownie gluten free!

Garnet Station Cafe has been around for around five or six years now. It’s the type of place you enter and feel instantly relaxed, kinda like heading to a friend’s place who knows a thing or two about working in a kitchen. There are quite a few options in terms of rooms of where to sit and the staff were fantastic. I had a gourmet mince and cheese pie which was served with a delicious chunky relish and a coffee, which was the best I’d had in a while. The girlfriend had something vegetarian which she gave a double thumbs up. Definitely worth a look!
Pro: organic & yummy food, great service, flair, different sitting options, opening hours (small con: not the cafe's fault, but bothers me that one of the waiters smokes and I'm financing it) There’s nothing to criticise at all! The coffee and sweets which I tried were super yummy, the service was amazing, and the interior design is just superb! It’s like someone lets you into their lovingly furnished and decorated home. You can sit outside, in the front by the busy counter, on a couch in the living room or in the library room. How awesome is that? And they even have wifi which they offer right away if they see you on the computer. Of course I also love their use of organics as much as they can and their interest in sustainability.
