Top Auckland Dealer Gallery. Great shows. Friendly staff. Love it!

    Great walk in gallery that showcases some of the works by prominent NZ artists. Always a must on the list of galleries to visit when in the city.

      Best free art gallery that always has exceptional pieces of work by prominent NZ artists. Always a good walk in place and a must on a regular basis.

        Gow Langsford is one of the leading contemporary galleries in Lorne and Kitchener Streets in the CBD. Others include John Leech, FHE and Anna Miles Gallery. While you’re here pay a visit to Parsons, the specialist art bookshop, who offer a great selection of art books and catalogues. 

          Stunning pieces of Tony Cragg sculpture at the moment. Love the variety of high quality works. A must see/look through if you are an art lover and in the CBD

            I have wandered in a few times recently - the Damien Hurst exhibition was particulary magnificent - and the current collection is just as interesting.  There are a couple of McCahon's on the wall that I really like.  Despite obviously not having the $80K lying around I was treated with respect and even walked out with the beautiful colour catalogue under my arm. They have time payment options - for those pieces that come well under the aforementioned price tag - that possibly suits others who have the inclination!

              Whenever I'm in town, I often take the time to wander down Lorne Street. I've always been a big fan of this area of town, and the Auckland Council have done a great job revitalizing the street. One of the highlights of Lorne Street has to be the Gow Langsford Gallery. Everytime I walk by, no matter day or night, I'm always impressed with the edgy, modern art they feature. Excellent using of white space combined with the high ceilings as well as the lighting design means that for the moment you're there, you'll forget you're in Auckland. It feels like you've been transported to the chic art gallery district of Chelsea in New York.  Spare the 15 minutes in your day and check out Gow Langsford Gallery next time you're in town. You won't regret it.
