Habitat for Humanity is a not-for-profit humanitarian organisation who help provide low income, or disaster stricken families with housing and a foundation for a better life.
Their new initiative "ReStore" have seen them set up several second hand stores around the country that accept donations of new and gently used items, with all sales generating funds for Habitat's building programmes. The folks down at the Hastings branch are a friendly bunch and would love to take your old stuff off your hands or hook you up with a deal - plus they pick up and deliver all items!
Their goods sell at a fraction of the retail price so next time you fancy a new couch for the flat, or want to chuck out your old bed frame, think of the kiwis who aren't as fortunate as you are and think of Habitat for Humanity.
