On a Friday or Saturday night, Havana is one of the nicest bars in Wellington. Lovely staff, exceptional drinks, great live music and DJs. Even better, you can get an excellent bite to eat next door in the restaurant - and if you really wanted to make an evening of it, Lighthouse Cinema is just across the road.

Amazing dinner here with my parents, a quiet spot of the main road but inside was busy and had a great atmosphere- staff knew their wine and food choices- get the confit duck and crushed potatoes!!

The Havana Bar has a great vibe, located off the hustle and bustle on Wigan street, great cocktails and spanish inspired food.

These guys always amaze me with their service, creative menu and knowledge of their wines... oh and there is also the cocktail that uses a cigar and the amazing truffles.

Introduced me to frangelico and lime...

This place is a tiny treasure hidden down a back street off Taranaki. It’s the original roasting HQ of Havana coffee, who have since outgrown the premises and moved a couple of streets over. It was a cocktail bar while it was still a roastery, but they’ve just expanded and stretched the bar to fit a small restaurant as well. They serve pretty classic Cuban inspired cocktails, but they make them very well  and there’s always live music playing to accompany your drink. A must visit!

Fantastic atmosphere great friendly staff and the drinks are fantastic!

This is probably the best bar of all time

Great atmosphere, the food and cocktails were delicious and creative. Particularly enjoyed the aged beef skewers (best beef ever) and the Gambatte cocktail, with dry sake, Japanese plum wine and a black Doris plum. Dessert wasn’t to be missed either.

Havana is my favourite spot in Wellington - quirky, cosy (yet surprisingly roomy) with delicious, reasonably priced cocktails and a great vibe. The perfect place for late afternoon drinks in summer (they have happy hour specials every night) and always fun as an evening destination.
