On a Friday or Saturday night, Havana is one of the nicest bars in Wellington. Lovely staff, exceptional drinks, great live music and DJs. Even better, you can get an excellent bite to eat next door in the restaurant - and if you really wanted to make an evening of it, Lighthouse Cinema is just across the road.
This place is a tiny treasure hidden down a back street off Taranaki. It’s the original roasting HQ of Havana coffee, who have since outgrown the premises and moved a couple of streets over. It was a cocktail bar while it was still a roastery, but they’ve just expanded and stretched the bar to fit a small restaurant as well. They serve pretty classic Cuban inspired cocktails, but they make them very well and there’s always live music playing to accompany your drink. A must visit!
