What's not to love about Istana Malaysia?! What an amazing place! I got directed here by a friend of mine, and I was not let down. A business trip led me to Wellington and with Istana top of my list of places to visit, a great meal was definitely in order. Being of Malaysian heritage myself just meant that it brought me that much closer to "home". Great food Great service Lovely owners Authentic taste I'll be back. Regularly. I promise. We really lucked out when we got a spot for 8 here after we decided at the last minute that it was the sort of night for a cheeky BYO. Conveniently situated close to Chaffer’s NW to stock up on bottles of vino, this place was awesome! They have a huge venue with a huge range, they also do banana rotis for dessert! YUM!
