I don't have a huge range of knowledge when it comes to women's fashion but I do know that every time I'm with my girlfriend and we pass Karen Walker in Britomart we have to stop in. The store is light filled and spacious, with the ever present scent of Viktor and Rolf in the air. Over the years Karen has put out consistent, quality ranges of clothes that make an impact worldwide. Quirky prints, intricate pattern designs and great cuts make for desirable clothes. In store you can grab some new threads and also pick up sunglasses or jewellery from her highly popular ranges.

The new Karen Walker store in Britomart’s Pavilions is my favourite of the internationally loved Kiwi designer’s stores. The staff are absolutely wonderful, whilst the winter collection in store now makes my credit card tremble with good reason. I especially love the warm winter coats and party frock options, and she even has some perfectly designed wooly hats and scarves for when the mercury really drops. Retail heaven.

Amazing knitwear, killer jackets and of course the most iconic of sunglasses. There are some mohair pieces right now that will blow your mind.

One of NZs most successful designers here and internationally. She is very forward-thinking and edgy. Great if you like fashion that has a bit of quirky personality and character. The prices are what you would expect for a top-of-the range label.

Karen Walker's jewelery is gorgeous and the cute earrings which cost around $70 will make a treasured gift. And if high end fashion labels are beyond your budget you will love Hi There because it means you can get the Karen Walker look at a fraction of the price. I’m a particular fan of Karen’s Hi There dresses which are perfect for work, really well made so sure to be a wardrobe favourite for a long time and cost around $215. Every season when I rock up wearing a new one everyone asks me where I got it from and it’s also pretty cool to be able to credit it to a New Zealand designer. The staff at Karen Walker on High Street are lovely and helpful without being pushy which you don't want in a store where most items are way out of your price range!
