Ben Story, dad of five, is living out his dream of serving the best coffee to wonderful locals. Over summer Ben's two eldest work along side him, all three are equally passionate about coffee. His eclectic taste and wild love for coffee has taken Ben and his coffee all around NZ, finally settling down, on a quaint lane in Takapuna.

Popped in on Ben in his sweet Kombi the other day to grab a sneaky Friday pick me up and coffee was on my mind as I started to psych myself up for the weekend. Ben twisted my arm and convinced me to grab a super juice - which I was unsure about at first. Lordy that thing tasted good - it was packed with lemon, ginger and all sorts of other goodness and livened me up even more than a coffee would have. Will be back next time I'm in town to try more funky juices and a coffee - as I've heard Ben brews up the best coffees in Takapuna.
I visited Ben Story at his digs in Takapuna's sweet precinct Fortieth and Hurstmere recently to check out his awesome Havana coffee served out of a Kombi. Ben's a coffee aficionado, travelling to Auckland by way of the The Lyttleton Coffee Company and a stint spent in the cafe capital of New Zealand, Welly. I love the fact that he's also brought his passion and refinement for the art of coffee with him to Takapuna. I'd indulged the night before too so he served me up a delicious cold-pressed juice of carrot, lemon and a whole lot of other goodies. It certainly put a pep in my step.
