It's a pretty small market in comparison to Takapuna or Avondale but they have a nice selection of stuff. Fresh product, to salamis to bread and dips. Which is all I'm every after really! I like to buy my sunday breakfast ingredients from here and then stop for a cup of coffee and pastry inside. The fresh juice stall is fantastic and I love buying hummus, babaganoush dip and smoked cheddar from here. It tastes like bacon, yum.

I go there when I need a hit , I mean when I need to e spiritually revived , no need to speak french and no need to et French bread .But if you wish to do something differant just go . Also I like to go to the Cigal French Restuarnat evenings for which I think you must book , go with a group of fiends and seek what you desire .Be French for an evening , drink French wine eat ....food .

Super :)

The produce that can be found at La Cigale is amazing. Top of the list has to be the stand with all the various dips - hummus, babaganoush, various pestos - so delicious! Hard to walk past the crepe stand! Also lots of fresh fruit and veges for super low prices and quite an exotic range as well. It has a great atmosphere - definitely the best markets in Auckland.

Have never actually made it to this. Friends swear by it though. Have to get one of them to pick me up...

Lovely :)

There is no better place to spend on a Sunday morning thank the French markets! You're missing out if you've never done this - go there with an empty stomach and make sure to take cash!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! For cheap fruit and veggies, its pretty awesome and the variety is huge! Its also great to support people in the community and hearing about the process, of the foods that they are selling. The only downside would be parking. There is a good sized carpark by the markets but it usually is packed, so I would recommend parking down St Georges Bay Road. Come here for breakfast and treat yourself! The Baklava at the Turkish stand is beautiful!

Awesome :)

I've been on the hunt for a premium public markets since I moved to New Zealand over a year ago. It's largely been hit or miss, mostly misses. The Auckland Britomart market is shockingly tiny, although it draws purveyors of good vegetables. The Hobsonville market has a lot of promise and great meats, but its biggest weakness is, well, vegetables. The Parnell Market hit every one of my weak spots: fresh oysters, homemade mozzarella, fresh ravioli, local bottled juices, a terrific array of meats and sausages (not the bland junk you put on a slice of bread!), and, best of all, a solid selection of vegetables. Imagine that...a farmer's market with a terrific choice of vegges. Did I mention the posh kitchen-equipment store? I love this place and recommend it highly. Yes, there's eftpos, but bring cash if you want more freedom.

General madness at the markets which seem to be growing! Exciting to see some nice new stalls. However still only one take out coffee stall with a 20+ minute wait!

Great market held on Saturdays and Sundays. Great selection of fruit and veges. Would recommend getting there early so you can avoid the crowds and don't miss out on any good stuff...

Great :)

If you don't know what to eat on the Friday morning after, I'll tell you. Paella. From the Spanish guy with the tractor wheel sized pan at La Cigale Markets. And while he's spooning fragrant spoonfuls of solid deliciousness into a takeaway container, grab a coffee at the cart next door. Then it's sunglasses. Patch of grass. Boom!
