There’s plenty of dog walking in the Maitai Valley - the walkway runs from the marina right up to the gold course. Excellent choice for dogs who like to swim although check that dogs are allowed in swimming holes, especially in summer when there are small children around.

The Maitai Valley is full of great swimming spots - drive up the Valley from the end of Nile street and look for car parks at Black Hole, Dennies Hole or Girlies hole - they are all family friendly swimming holes with good access. The nice thing about the Maitai Valley is that most of the swimming spots have good shady areas to sit, so you won't get sunburnt in between dips, and it makes a nice change from the beach.

The Maitai Valley is a great place to take your dog for a walk - nice long footpaths, (look out for mountain bikers) and a network of tracks to explore. Enter from the west end of Nile Street, plenty of parking and doggy foo bags available!
