The Manawatu Gorge Track is part of the scenic reserve of the same name and is one of the only places in the world where a river passes through a dividing range.

Strap the families' walking shoes on for a full day out in the wilderness. Along the way, walkers will discover a bush paradise, see a carving of Whatonga, get a chance to be up close and personal with New Zealand bird life and enjoy wide-sweeping vistas.

There's also a flat loop track in the same reserve that's short enough to allow little ones their very own experience of NZ native bush.

Grab the family, a picnic lunch, a warm jacket and do the Manawatu Gorge Bush Walk. Stroll among the native trees and plants while listening to the birds chirping above your head. A great day trip that involves the whole family getting outdoors and active in this beautiful location!
