Mantells - Mt Eden

This beautiful, rustic-looking villa is a great wedding spot. You’ll feel like you’re in Italy without having to splash the cash to actually get there! I’d also highly recommend Mantells on the Water, which is in the viaduct and is equally amazing.

I looked over this beautiful venue for my birthday and was blown away by the secret that was hidden behind the inconspicuous outer facade. Situated right in Mt Eden village it was a complete surprise. There are other venues by mantels that are just as stunning. Highly recommend this venue for smaller scaled events. Must have a reasonable budget but it is worth it.

My daughter and I checked this out as a wedding venue as it had a Mediterranean courtyard setting which my daughter fancied.  The place is beautiful and well set out but for us it was to small.  We were also put off by its location as there was no street appeal and parking would of been a major challenge.  Friends who have been to weddings at Mantells have always been pleased by the quality of food and ambiance which is great to hear, for my daughter it just wasn't quite the right place for her dream wedding.  They also have another venue in Westhaven if your looking for great harbour views.

This place has sentimental value for me. My dad got married here. Hidden away from the main road, it would be easy to not know this place even existed. Owned by some of the same crowd who started French cafe, you can tell right off the bat it is something really special. A family operated business, the setting is something that you have to see to understand and is hard for me to describe here. Basically, imagine stepping back in time to provincial France and you might get the idea. The catering, decor and staff are amazing and any function held here would definitely be remembered for a long time!
