The historic Marquis of Normanby Hotel was originally built in 1876 and named after the then Governor of NZ, George Augustus Constantine Phipps.
Rebuilt in 1924 after a devastating fire, the hotel provides a range of comfortable accommodation, along with a restaurant and bar.
A great base from where to explore the Wairarapa region, you can enjoy the wine or balloon festivals, the Golden Shears contest, or walk the Tararua ranges.
The lively sports bar is a great place to make friends with the locals, with a covered courtyard, big screen tv, a pool table, jukebox, darts board and TAB.

If you want to stick it out the whole world cup this is the place! Big screen, food, beer and even accommodation if you need to rest between games! As well as lots of like minded people who will also be chearing on the All Blacks.

Head to the Marquis to watch the game on one of the several screens in this historic pub. Grab the famous Wairarapa beer, Tui and try some of the tasty bar snacks. There’s plenty of seating so get some mates and watch the All Blacks. They have a happy hour on Fridays and often have live music if you want to stay on and party.
