No where else in Wellington can you find caramel slice with a more generous caramel to base ratio. Nor can you find less judgmental baristas. Nor vegan food good enough convince the omnivores in your party. Nor will you find anywhere nicer open at 2 a.m. It's probably hyperbolic to call it an institution, but it may be the closest thing this city has.
This place is a great alternative to a bar at night if you are wanting to catch up with friends, they are open till the wee hours of the morning. They have a great range of food items with lots of vegetarian and vegan choices. You can build your own bagel for brunch which I found to be really reasonable, the best deal on the breakfast menu, you get to choose 3 toppings (and they have delicious options) on a bagel for about $7.
