Established in May 2009, Momo Sushi is a popular Japanese restaurant and takeaway located in New Plymouth. Run by husband and wife team Micky Myong and Jenny Lee, they ran restaurants in both Auckland in Christchurch before deciding to set up their small eatery on Devon Street.

With a number of tables available for dine in customers, they also attract a host of regular takeaway customers with their delicious sushi bar which is packed with freshly prepared sushi, sashimi and other Japanese treats.

I’ve been going on a bit of a crazy sushi tangent lately, and I blame this place! Momo has got to be in my top 3 sushi places of all time, yes, they’re that good. The thing that makes it great is not only the flavour, but the incredible variety they have on offer!

    Momo Sushi is my go-to sushi bar with so many different options that there is something for everyone! This is a great place to go if you know what you want so you can get in and out in just a few minutes, come to think of it; it’s perfect if you’re on a short lunch break. Overall, all the food is delicious, with a few standout pieces such as the sweet chilli chicken (and for me, anything seafood!).

      I can always rely on Momo for amazing sushi. You get a tray and pick as many pieces of sushi you want, they're not badly priced either. My favourite is the panko crumbed Prawns, so good! I've always loved seafood and they've got a nice selection of that as well as Teriyaki Chicken and Spicy Tuna!
