With main activities of climbing, hiking, skiing and hunting, the park is the ultimate destination for a adventure filled retreat. A few days worth of walking takes you to the heart of the park, into wilderness rich with fields of snow, glaciers, and wildlife. With valleys and glaciers to the east and waterfall laced forests to the west, the park surrounds you with postcard picture opportunities.

The country’s third largest national park, Mount Aspiring is one of my favourite places to visit in Otago. There are 59 bird species call the area home and Lord of the Rings was filmed there!

Arguably the best views in the country, this is the perfect place to road trip to because the drive there is incredible and the destination doesn't disappoint either. Seeing the glaciers was a highlight and the waterfalls are amazing no matter how many you see.
