The Moutere Inn claims to be NZ’s oldest pub. It’s set in the rolling Moutere Hills - the best hop growing region in New Zealand - and sells a rotating range of beers from around the country. It’s a real traditional kiwi country pub and a great place for a hearty meal or just a taste of good beer.

If it’s too wet for walking or biking, head to the Moutere and visit new Zealand’s oldest pub. The pub is a craft beer lovers delight, has a big fire, comfy seats, a pool table and no TV. Try a pint of best bitter and a bar meal and the rain will fade into insignificance.

Reputed to be Nelson's oldest pub - this is a lovely place to stop for lunch, dinner or a local craft beer. The village of Upper Moutere is in the heart of Nelson's wine and craft beer region, and the Moutere Inn is well known for its selection of local craft brews on tap. Add a big log fire in winter, nice bar meals and friendly staff and it's a good place to stop any time of year.
