Nectar Bar

Nectar is my most recent discovery and one I’m thrilled to have made. It’s certainly a hidden gem – nestled on the floor above the notorious Kingslander pub on New North Rd, it’s basically invisible from the street. But once you get upstairs you’ll find it’s an impressively large space. The dancefloor can hold a significant crowd (and it was packed with jumping, grinding rock fans the night I was there). The outdoor area is gorgeous, and even on a freezing winter night it’s a great place to hang out as they have several cozy couches you can snuggle on and an ample fireplace which creates a lovely, romantic vibe. The friendly and professional bar staff agreed to make my friends and I a surprise cocktail – a move which often backfires, but this one actually turned out to be a really tasty concoction! So I do recommend making the most of their expertise. All-in-all an awesome experience, the bands shone but so did the venue. If you’re looking to take a date out to dinner and then some live music, check Nectar’s gig schedule – it could be exactly what you’re after, especially with the vast array of awesome restaurants nearby. You’ll thank me when you’re cozying up together by Nectar’s fireplace later that night!

Enjoyed watching it here, however on this night they didn't have the fire going and all the outside seats had been removed that wasn't  the most comfortable to watch standing the whole time

Really great place to catch up with a few friends for a drink. As its upstairs from the Kingslander, it's pretty easy to get too. Lots of seating and a small outdoor area. Great place to have a cheeky wine or a couple of cocktails with some girlfriends. Good times!

Upstairs of Kingslander. Came here last night for a friend's 21st. Pretty easy to find. Parking available on the road- parallel or there is a side road further up the road. Private from the rest of the bar. Another bar at the top and good floor space. Small tables and couch to corner and private secluded area with tables and chairs to the left side, indoor/outdoor half area furtherest to the right with a fireplace. Decent food- great pizza. Recommend. Would love to see in the day and the Kingslander below

Went here for an event...which despite them knowing the expected numbers was actually quite poorly prepared for (not enough seats, odd layout etc...). They also have some weird cross over between media feeds as things kept switching to the quiz night below.  However the food and drinks were good (although a bit pricey!). The best thing about this place is actually the location. Right by the station its not a bad way to spend an evening and get home without a taxi fare. Would only go again though for an event.

Awesome bar - Great music, nice space with outdoor area. Never too packed!!

Upstairs from Kingslander. Nice rooftop area with views of the stadium. There is also live music which is a nice touch. The fireplace sports a real fire which is always a bonus!
