The staff at Devonport New World always make an extra effort to smile and say hello to my Great Aunt. The wine section is always well stocked, with some good specials to suit an OAP budget!

    Bit tucked away behind the main road, but easy to spot once you get down the right road. Decent car parking available. Decently sized with good range. No issues. Happy

      I’ve heard people say that New World in Devonport is the most expensive supermarket in New Zealand, so I went to Pak’n Save in Wairau park for a month to compare prices. To my surprise it turned out that the difference was virtually nothing, so I can now save myself the drive knowing that I won’t lose money shopping locally in a much nicer shopping environment. Very helpful and friendly staff as well.

        New World Devonport became the country's first "green supermarket" 12 months ago at a cost of $5 million, they acknowledge their new plant noise limits far exceed the legal limits and have promised to fix this on many occasions over the 12 months since the installation but to no avail Arneg their install engineers say the plant is operating within contracted limits, the owner operator John Ashton advised me that that had spent $5 million dollars on the upgrade yet they will not spend a few thousand to get the noise within legal limits. As part of the installation they built a huge shed on the Supermarket Roof blocking some residents views when neighbours were advised that the installation would be smaller, greener and 20% quieter ... this is not true nor is it good corporate responsibility especially when New World enjoy a monopolistic position on the peninsula. Very Poor!
