New World - Wellington City

The staff here enjoy being rude to customers. The store is overpriced and dirty..Not at all recommended..

Known colloquially as "chaffers" New World, this supermarket is a trusty emporium of all your food needs. It is also home to some of the coolest checkout operators you’ve ever had the pleasure of being served by.

Centrally located near Wellington Harbour (and thus only a 5 minute walk from my home), New World's supermarket in the heart of the city is perfect for my shopping needs. Well stocked and boasting ample 'super saver' discounts, I try to time my weekly trip to match up with the Harbourside Market each Sunday morning. But with late night hours (open 'til midnight every night), you might just find yourself surreptitiously buying a bar of chocolate and a bottle of Coopers sparkling ale on your way home, too.

In Welly for the Festival for the Future '12, & did our day's grocery shopping here- only a few minutes walk, decent sized car park and good sized supermarket with everything you need. Easy to use self service machines- needed help with fruit but person on hand to help. Nice to have it there!
