Me and 2 of my friends stayed in this backpackers one night after town. It was about $30 for the night. We stayed in a 6 bed girls only dorm with 2 lovely Dutch girls. We got ready here before town then drank for a bit at the attached Nomad’s Fat Camel bar downstairs. The place was decent and very sociable, and everyone was extremely friendly as tourists seem to always be. Had I actually been a tourist and wanted to utilise all of the facilities on offer it would of been great! They have a sauna, free WIFI, and arrange jobs and daily activities around Auckland for you to do! Very accommodating.
This is your classic tourist bar - very casual vibe with a load of different mix of people from all walks of Earth and drink specials at certain times with cheap drinks. It certainly does not blend in to the rest of the bars in Auckland Central that is for sure. This one is very, VERY casual and because basically everyone are tourists they aren’t as, well, unfriendly as Aucklanders tend to be. Lets be honest. This bar is set in a handy location with all the rest of Auckland City bars and clubs at your finger tips. This place is usually a handy place to start with their great happy hour deals.
