I walked into Nosh today to try and finish off my shopping for ingredients I needed to get for my Christmas cheeseboard. I quite like the goats cheese and honeycomb at Dida's and was looking to replicate that as part of the board. I asked for some soft goats cheese and the lady behind the counter knew straight away what I was talking about. I was offered some to try on a lovely wafer cracker and BINGO! Then the strange thing happened...she asked when I needed the cheese. I replied 'Christmas'. She let me in on a (probably not so) secret - tomorrow it goes on special. Now, she could have not told me and sold me expensive goats cheese on a one-off deal but now i'm bound to return, am a committed 'new' customer and sharing this news with all and sundry (not just on Localist). I also wanted honeycomb but they had sold out and she suggested I just drizzle some good runny honey over the top of the cheese instead. Problems solved! All in all - fantastic experience. The food is a bit pricey compared to your usual supermarket but the range is great and it's real food. I'll be back tomorrow for the special cheese and more!
Emphasis on quality - but still competitive prices. I always enjoy going here. An actual shopping experience as opposed to walking through a factory (most other supermarkets). This is not a local butcher / vege stall in a small town, but has aspects of proper service and products you imagine the owners personally select on quality.
Great selection of cheese and they let you sample if you ask. There is always a taste table with a select product. The store is clean and the staff are friendly. Some foods are cheaper to buy at the supermarket but if you are looking for nice prestentation or a gift Nosh is definately a place to look. Good carparking and friendly staff.
