If wine tours and tastings are your thing, Okurukuru is a place you need to experience for yourself! With a never-ending view of the west coast, there are many vineyards filled below with grape vines that are used for the restaurant wine itself! I love the Pinot Noir they produce, it’s absolutely perfect when you’re sitting outside on a sunny day taking in those rolling hills and vineyard landscapes!

Okurukuru is famous in Taranaki for having an extensive vineyard that goes across acres of land and can be viewed from the restaurant itself. You wouldn’t think grape vines and coastal views go together, but they actually complement each other beautifully. The vineyard specialises in Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Pinotage, and Sauvignon Blanc.

Okurukuru just screams peace and tranquillity just by where it’s situated, which is pretty much smack bang in between Oakura and New Plymouth. It’s definitely well worth the drive out, because it my opinion, this is one of the best places to have lunch, dinner or to host an event. It’s a family owned business so you can tell with that the service will be impeccable but friendly. Because the restaurant is located on a vineyard, they make and serve their own wine which is such a lovely touch.

This restaurant has amazing views overlooking the ocean and its very own vineyard. They have a delicious free range Pork Belly with an apple chutney with crackling including, my favourite! It's definitely worth the trip!

The service, atmosphere and location all hit a very high standard in my books, well done

Commanding views of the coast of beautiful Taranaki and only 20 mins drive from the city. Who’d have thought they could plant a vineyard in such rugged conditions! Stop in for a wine or go all out on the degustation menu.
