One Tree Bakery is a popular bakery located on the busy Mount Maunganui Road. Open seven days a week, they sell a selection of sandwiches, freshly baked savouries and sweet treats which can be enjoyed on their streetside tables or taken away.
The real star of the show however are their delicious pies, with their tasty chicken and vegetable pie having won the gold award at the hotly contested Bakels Supreme Pie Awards in 2014.

This Mount Maunganui baker do a wonderful chicken and vegetable pie with a nice golden crust, but Buncheon Keo is quite innovative with his flavoursome fillings. The kiwi breakfast – bacon, egg, tomato, mushroom and cheese – is tasty, as is the wacky-named double bag – sausage meat, potato, bacon and cheese.
One Tree is your classic Kiwi bakery. No-frills and no messing around. Just damn good pies. Everyone goes here for the chicken and vegie pie, it’s a classic and a pie connoisseurs go-to when they are feeling a little classy and want to avoid the usual mince and cheese. Honestly the best chicken pie you’ll find around these parts!
