The Opportunity for Animals stores support the continuing running of the Black Sheep Animal Sanctuary in Otaki.

The Sanctuary is a safe space, rehabilitating abused, injured and neglected nonhuman animals – both native and introduced.

Every day, hundreds of thousands of animals suffer pain and fear in intensive farms, stockyards and slaughterhouses throughout New Zealand. Countless others are neglected or abandoned. The Sanctuary offers unwanted and ill-treated farm and domestic animals a chance of a new life.

Newtown’s Opportunity for Animals shop is a sprawling and disorganised second hand haunt with a lot of decent bargains to be found. I’ve found the homewares section particularly good for kitchen equipment, but the clothing selection is also extensive and reasonably priced.

    Opportunity For Animals is just one of the many excellent op-shops in Newtown. This one has clothing and accessories for men, women and children, plus a wide range of homewares and books. You’ll be surprised at how much you can pick up for less than $10.

      The famous Opportunity for Animals store joins an already formidable set of opshops in Newtown. Lovely staff and a great selection of used stuff geared towards fundraising.
