Hidden in the Left Bank Cuba Mall is Oriental Kingdom Cafe. Favourite haunt for students and those that want cheap and cheerful, no frills, quick authentic Malaysian dishes. BYO and friendly staff. Outside seating.

Come here for the atmosphere and the fun, but don't come for much else. This is the most popular watering hole for Wellington students so you're in for a party on the weekend. Definitely go once even if it's just for the experience and to reminisce on the good old days!

    Oriental Kingdom is a great spot for a cheap, delicious Malaysian meal. The mains are enormous and mostly around the $12 to $17 mark, but if it’s the dark side of payday, the <$10 roti is a solid choice.

      On the weekend, Oriental Kingdom is a popular choice for big groups of university students looking to booze before a big night on the town – which, for the other diners, means that dinner often comes with a show. If you’re prepared for that, you can’t beat Oriental Kingdom for convenience and price, even if the atmosphere (read: wide-screen TVs on silent and fluorescent lights) is nothing to write home about.

        Tucked away gem

          An excellent Asian eatery. All the classic dishes plus many, many more. I was recommended to visit by a friend so I visited on Friday night while the night market was bustling around me. It is a BYO restaurant so i enjoyed my wine while people watching. I enjoyed it so much i went again on Saturday. Even though it always seems to be busy the service is still very quick, even for a table of 15.
