Park-sleep in the Clive reserve near Napier At Clive Park Right over night . www.park-sleep.co.nz Auckland Localist .
Head South from Napier [ past the famous Maclean rugby park ] to the southern end of the Clive Bridge on State Highway two .The bridge straddles a river [quite a big river , one with a stoney single river banks].Turn left just after the bridge into School Road and then left into Ferry Road .There is a small charge which should be placed in the donation box .Park on the grassy area .But but but remember it is a river and can flood quickly in heavy rain . [ the entry way to the camp ground is behind the war memorial , so look out for the soldier on a stone memorial holding a rifle ].
There are toilets and dogs are allowed . For further information see www.park-sleep.co.nz
Swimming can be dangerous on this part of the East Coast and this river is not that good for swimming .But it is a very nice place close to the little township of Clive .
