Philippe Gauthier moved to NZ with his family 5 years ago and is fourth-generation butcher from the south of France.
With the dominance of supermarkets in the meat trade, Philiipe saw a gap in the market for a specialist butcher and opened up his popular store in Nelson.
Customers love the personal service, advice and tips on offer. Choose from a selection of high quality products including free range meats, hand made sausages and artisan cheeses imported from France.
Phillipe also takes on local apprentices who get the opportunity to learn from a true master of his trade.

If you want real European quality meat then Philipe is the guy to go to - his little butchery in Nelson’s Marble Arch arcade is treasure trove of quality meat - beef and lamb included - all prepared to perfection. He’ll do special cuts and preparations for you and always has lovely little extras to tempt the taste buds.
