Having just moved house to around the corner from this great, authentic French cuisine cafe, you simpy have to make the journey to Grey Lynn from wherever you are as, quite simply, "C'est Magnifique!!" From pain au chocolate to baguettes to delightfully hand-made individual chocolates,, Phillippe's is the real deal - superbe!

The croissants are so delicious and goes well with a nice hot chocolate

If you want to sink your teeth into some of the best croissants in Auckland then head to Phillippe's Patisserie in Grey Lynn. A colleague has just brought in the most flaky, light and delicious croissants for morning tea and I highly recommend a visit to see the proprietor to buy some pastries from one of the best French bakeries in Auckland.

I wasn't feeling too well this week and to make up for things a friend of mine thought the answer was to tuck into a plum and custard danish from Phillippe's. I hadn't been there before and was at once impressed with the extensive pastry selection. The plum danish was just what the doctor ordered, a delicious, fruity treat with a delicate vanilla custard. Yum.

great range and variety to choose from

Amazing french pastries!  Their custard slice thingy is yummy too!!

Walking into Phillippe's and being confronted by baskets full of fresh pastries (danishes, Pain au chocolat, almond croissants...) is a pretty enticing affair. Grabbing a coffee to go with that flakey goodness, and perhaps one of their housemade chocolates for later, will leave you convinced heaven is on earth, and it's in Arch Hill.

Seriously good.

Highlights: the sweet and savoury pastries, the truffles, and the ginger hot chocolate. Sensational.

Everybody should go here just to try their berry/fruit pastries! They have a good variety of other baked bread and french chocolatey sweets, but my heart is always set on pastries when I go here so unfortunately I havent tried much else, but wow the pastries are worth the trip. Reminds me of my boulangerie hopping in Paris when we ate french baking for 5 days straight and never got bored of it.
