I had some seafood stew of some sort and it was fairly average. Sorry it was a few months ago and I cannot remember anymore details. All I can recall is that it was very, very salty. And I always season my food. My cousin had the steak and was pretty happy with it. I guess I'll give it a second go since this place has rave reviews.
I have visited Ponsonby Road Bistro on a number of occasions now, and I have to say the food is consistently fresh and delicious, and the staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgable about the menu. If you're not there for dinner then you cannot go past the exquisit cocktails. Ponsonby Road Bistro is by far the best restaurant in Ponsonby.
The dark and romantic atmosphere in PRB is hard to go past. Its quiet luxury feeling makes for a really special night out. An ever changing menu keeps things interesting but sometimes you desperately want the meal you had the time before but it's gone already! Champagne Mojitos are definitely worth a try!
Awesome place to go out with friends. An absolutely mouth watering menu with something for everyone. The portion sizes are generous and the cost is totally reasonable. Big words - but I think this would be the best value for money restaurant in Auckland. Especially considering the level of service and the intimate atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Always love coming here. Melissa and her crew always do a great job. Pretty much faultless from the time you walk in ... till you leave. In fact leaving is the hard part. Great memorable food, excellent professional waiting staff ( they really add to the enjoyment of the night out). Love what they do
PRB would be one my top places in the city to recommend - it's not a showy fine dining establishment, but outshines many that are. The food is consistently great (one of the best eye fillet steaks I've had in the city), the desserts I've had have all been quite outstanding, and the selection of wine and other drinks is impressive. I like that the staff all seem genuinely happy to enter into conversation about the menu and know it inside out. It offers excellent value for the price.
