Child friendly, great service and grteat food with an excellent wine list

There's one and only dish I come to Prego to have and, after more than 10 years of eating at this institution of a Ponsonby restaurant, it is always still as good as the first day I tasted it. The magic meal I'm talking about? Prego's fish of the day. There's always a slight culinary twist so each time you eat the dish, it tastes different (no matter how many times you've had it ... and believe me, I've eaten their fish of the day a lot!). Take my word: Try it now!

Prego serves some of the most amazing food I've ever tasted, and also provides top quality service with staff who entertain and cater to your needs perfectly. I don't think I've ever had a better experience at a restaurant then I have at prego.

Prego is a timeless institution of Ponsonby Road. The service and food are always impeccable and the family friendly, easygoing atmosphere is right for any occasion.

Never disappointed at Prego. The staff are so well trained and professional it is a privilege to watch them work. The food is always great. Even popping in for a glass of wine and a pizza is an experience.

The pizza chef at Prego has been there since the restaurant’s first day in 1986…NINETEEN EIGHTY SIX! He’s one of the sole reasons why Prego is an absolute institution, keeping a never-ending flow of diners coming back for his scrumptious slices. In the hospitality industry it’s consistency that creates longevity for an establishment - and Prego have proved worthy of both of these feats. On the pizza front it’s choices like the classic margherita, pollo arrosto, or marinara that have been on the menu for literally decades, never experiencing a slump in popularity. All I can say is get there, try them, and see why for yourself.
