Scott Bradley, 3 times winner of the Nelson Hospitality Awards best barman title, finally realised a life long dream when he opened Rhythm and Brown with partner Resina Brabantin in December 2012.

Located in a former sushi shop on New Street, the aim was to provide a comfortable spot where customers can enjoy a quiet, relaxing drink with friends. There is a lively atmosphere at weekends when they host live musicians and bands.

Selling only local beers and wines from the top of the South Island, they also serve up a range of tasty meals using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.

Best bar for a more intimate evening - nice atmosphere, good live music and very good staff. It’s not a big place so doesn’t take a lot of people to fill it up but it has its own special vibe. I like this place alot.

Rhythm and Brown is a tiny bar tucked away in a back street of Nelson. They serve craft beer, local wines as well as the usual stuff you'd expect from a chilled kiwi bar. The great atmosphere means it's a popular Friday night drinkies spot but also good for live music on the weekends. Voted Best Bar by Wild Tomato 2014.
