Don't you hate when you anticipate traffic congestion and end up arriving hours earlier then you are mean't to be ! Happened this morning when I had to be at a 9.00 meeting in Kingsland. With traffic on the Southern motorway normally at a stand still at that time of the morning gave my self plenty of time and arrived with 30 min to spare so was able to park opposite, grab a coffee and read the NZ Herald. Perfect coffee, no stresses and in plenty of time for my meeting !
This cafe really attracts the artists crowd of Kingsland. I can see why. The rustic interior gives it a nice warm feel, and there's usually an acoustic music set played at nights. Order some herbal tea and one of their cakes and settle in for a good night of chatting and ideas exchanging with a good mate.
This has been around for donkey's years and is always the first one non-Kingslanders seem to think of. Great outdoor seating and relaxed atmosphere with the homey couches inside - lots of vegan options and you can't go past the coffee here either. They have open mic nights too so check out the events for the latest if you want something low key and awesome in the area (i.e. not rugby!)
