I love this place for fast, greasy and awesome pizza any time on K Rd. I always order a slice and three garlic knots for only $7. Amazing value to keep you carb-loaded all night. It's also impressive they have beer on tap, it can be so hard to find a licensed joint that sells such cheap food. Also love the staff, so laid-back and friendly.
Best New York style by the slice around. Giant slices, only a few toppings, great thin crust. The pizza at Sal’s never fails to satisfy. They’re licences so you can nab a cheeky pint at lunch and no one is the wiser. The garlic knots and Pepperoni scrolls are nice alternates to multiple slices and the staff are always friendly.
It's hard to fault Sal's business model - their pizzas absolutely do taste pretty much exactly like the NYC version they model themselves on. Thin crust, minimal but high-quality toppings, and sold by the slice. The service is friendly and efficient and the prices are very reasonable. Prefect for a quick lunch or dinner in the CBD.
Sals pizzas are massive. Really. It can be hard to carry the box down the street. They are also tasty - pulling out a giant slice, cheese melting all over your hands - perfection! One thing I would seriously not over rate - the vegetarian pizza. I always order half pepperoni, half vegetarian and it is the perfect combination. The sweetness of the roasted capsicum on the vegetarian balances out the saltiness of the pepperoni perfectly. They are really good with delivery if you are close by and don't charge for this service - secretly I think they enjoy the excuse to ride their segways.
