Salvation Kitchen

It's great to have a cafe in Avondale. The coffee is good, the service is friendly. The kids love the huge meringue treats, and as a bit of a caramel slice snob I can tell you that the slice here is one of the rare ones that's worth the calories. Also: pies!

Salvation Kitchen have an awesome selection of treats that are hand-made on site, it's always hard to choose from their selection especially when it comes to the doughnuts. With a bunch of different varieties including pretty tasty iced ones through to cream and jam filled ones and the cinnamon variety, it's a doughnut heaven out west. Get a coffee too for the perfect morning tea, it's definitely worth the trip to Avondale.

Gosh, popped into the lovely Salvation Kitchen last weekend ... lovely friendly staff and my friends, both vegetarians, were after a vege meal, and the chef came out to have a chat and delivered a lovely vege big breakfast. I enjoyed my big, post-big-night big breakfast. Coffee was perfect, food delcious and atmosphere not bad considering it used to be a petrol station. So pull in and fuel your tank (I know ... but couldn't resist). Will definitely be making a return journey, as it's just around the corner. How did I miss this for so long?

IF you want good cafe food and awesome coffee this is the place to come to.  Food is fresh and different to your run of the mill cafe food.  I go out of my way to stop in here.

Great cafe, reasonable prices. So great to enjoy west ak city life in summer strolling down to it, and sitting outside... <3
