My friend and I were so excited to check out this Savemart, I’d only been to one in Auckland and always had the best experiences with staff - not to mention the deals. My experience at this savemart was entirely different. The staff were extremely rude, snickering at my friend as she struggled to hold the clothes she wanted to try on as you are only allowed to try three at a time. This itself is understandable, what isn’t is that they wouldn’t allow us to put the clothes that we weren’t trying on at the time on racks, which were aplenty. All of their responses were short, blunt, and with a lick of disdain for us for no apparent reason. I asked why one of the women was being unkind and she scoffed and shrugged at me. I understand that work can be stressful but this level of rudeness is so inappropriate and just straight up mean. They also forced my friend to take a bag? Which she didn’t need - which is a waste of a bag. I don’t understand why they have so many rigid rules that ultimately don’t help anything. Also, everything is so overpriced. It’s a savemart for Christ’s sake! Be kinder!

Savemarts are all across New Zealand, stocking a massive amount of nearly everything. The finding of items can sometimes be a bit tricky but the finds here have always been impressive for those that are adept at hunting for them. A trip out to Upper Hutt is something that could go a long way to helping find new things for your wardrobe.
