Sea Dragon is a popular Chinese restaurant and takeaway located in Kaitaia. Opened in 2010, the restaurant is instantly recognisable to passers by due to two large dragon structures who inhabit its roof.

Open six days a week (closed on Mondays), they offer an extensive range of Chinese and European dishes including seafood, vegetarian and burgers. They also offer set menus, buffet and takeaway options.

With friendly staff, generous portions and reasonable prices, the restaurant is fully licensed with BYO available.

This iconic Kaitaia restaurant is easy to spot with the massive dragon poised to pounce on top of the roof. Their bountiful buffet is laden with Chinese classics. I love digging into some fat portions of their hot and sour soup and stir fried beef.
