Well worth the visit!

The underwater tunnels and also that it has changed from the team to walking around to see the penguins that I still haven't tried love love

Loved the underwater tunnels gives a new exprience of looking at water wild life

Who doesn’t love an under the sea birthday bash?

Kelly Tarlton’s is perfect for a marine biology freak like me. I love the underwater tunnels and of course the cute penguins!

penguins are fun

When I first heard about Kelly Tarlton’s when I moved to Auckland in 2010, I didn’t get what the big deal was. It’s just an aquarium? But after checking it out for myself to see what all the hype was about, I have to admit that it’s actually pretty cool. It’s a huge aquarium with all kinds of crazy creatures. You can also do shark cage diving or an on-the-ice penguin experience.

You’ll find Kelly Tarlton’s at Okahu Bay, where the unique location showcases over 30 live animal exhibits, including the world’s largest Antarctic penguin colony exhibit and amazing underwater viewing tunnels. It’s also conveniently close to Mission Bay, so a run on the beach and an ice cream is the perfect plan as a reward for good behaviour.

**** your little one ready to explore the mysteries of the deep sea and the sights and sounds of the Antarctic? The ocean is the only place on earth left to explore – that alone is enough to have an aspiring adventurer’s mind ticking over. If they are anything like my little niece, then the king penguins will be the highlight of the day, for the older kids check out the walk-through replica of Captain Robert Falcon Scott’s Antarctic hut. Don’t be surprised if you end up watching Happy Feet or Finding Nemo over and over again post visit!

Another great place to take friends and family from  overseas! :D
