If you like buffet brunch cafes in Wellington that include homemade muesli, freshly baked muffins. scones and pastries, and roasted coffee, then pop in to Soho Brown's. It's quirky and cosy inside with recipes posted around the walls (try the carrot cake one) and beautiful paintings. And if you can't stomach all the options then you can always just choose from their cabinets or off their a la carte menus.

Arrived and was greeted with men with moes - what a shock but all in a good cause. Coffee good and place nice and quiet even though half full Look forward to eating next time

Soho Brown’s does a satisfactory job of providing affordable, low-key, if not particularly inspirational cafe fare. Its old-fashioned decor and food (asparagus rolls! Club sandwiches!) is comforting but impersonal, making it the perfect destination for a lunch date you hope won’t lead anywhere. There’s nothing like eating from a tray to kill any semblance of romance in the air.

Set up like an old school cafeteria. You grab a tray at one end and take your pick from the cabinets filled with an array of sweet and savoury goods. They've got classics like lamingtons and pasties as well as their own take of the Mallowpuff. I had an iced coffee, with a generous scoop of ice cream, it wasn't too sweet and went perfectly with my lemon slice. The Mr was stoked with his sandwich too. This place is great if you've got a hankering for the classics.

Shuffle along the counter, school dinner canteen style, and check out the goodies on offer here. Not to be missed are the $7 soups, served in big cauldrons and ladels, an ideal candidate to stave off the cold.   Also home to the biggest milkshake I have ever laid my eyes on.

Such a relaxing ambiance and great food! :)

Boasting the afternoon sun soho brown is a great place to talk some yarns after work.
