A great place for brunch after a brisk walk on the beach. It has the casual beach flavour with amazing food and coffee and really good creamy mushrooms and eggs benedict – dogs are welcome outside too. It’s just had a lick and a paint so is now bigger, brighter and warmer outside. And it’s open for lunch and dinner most nights.

This established fine dining restaurant and cook school is renowned for “food to die for”. Some of their dishes are so popular owners Anne and Rick are not allowed to take them off the menu. The mouth-watering Cloudy Bay clams and mussel chowder on the weekly menu supports their celebrated reputation quite nicely.

This quaint little restaurant is set on rural cottage grounds, just north of Tauranga, and has a very relaxing atmosphere. The cottage is cosy and better suited to couples rather than large groups. The food is reliably fantastic and the service efficient and professional. It’s a great place to treat yourself to real dining experience.

This is a well renowned Date Night favourite among Tauranga locals, especially among men looking to make a real impression. It’s fine dining - with the prices to match - so best saved for date three or four. The setting is rural setting is beautiful - especially during daylight savings and you can walk off your meal with a stroll in the garden. The atmosphere is quiet and romantic with candles on the table and no screaming children.

Don’t let the quaint name fool you, this place is seriously classy. Their desserts are to die for and the presentation is top-notch. I suggest the sticky toffee pudding with homemade vanilla ice cream… so yum!

Exceptional food, the ambience is very cottagy which is in keeping with the name. Would recommend it for any special occassion that is to be celebrated with excellent food.

Fine dining in a cozy, warm cottage…an impressive date.
