Southern Cross provides a relaxed dining experience. Famous for it's 241 stone grills on both a Monday and a Tuesday, you have to get in quick to avoid missing out. Stone grill is a clever way to make the customer cook their own meal while dining out. However, watching your meat (or vegetarian option) of choice cook away provides satisfaction when it reaches the mouth.

Quiz night every Tuesday

Love the outdoor garden setting!

Awesome sunday roast, just like the old country

With their giant outdoor garden area, enough chairs, tables and stools to seat your group - small or large - and friendly staff that provide blankets, hot water bottles and make sure your thirst is quenched. This is my top favourite place to enjoy a ice cold cider, and a cheeky dirty durry.

Without making us feel like we're being a nuisance - always fabulous menu options!

Sundays are fun days at Southern Cross. You might be feeling a little under the weather from a good night out before, but the Southern will make you forget all about that pounding headache and weak stomach. They have giant jenga available for the kids, my favourite cider on tap (hair of the dog, why not!?), big outdoor garden bar, complete with hotties and blankets so you can stay warm while watching the little ones laugh over their attempts to get the jenga taller than themselves! The awesome thing that I love about Southern X on a Sunday is that they have the dine and dance evening, where you dine then an actual dancing teacher comes in and teaches you a dance for the night. It's good fun and gets your body moving, rather than sitting in bed feeling more sorry for yourself than you should. Hair of the dog is the best way, I say!

Every Sunday Night, Southern Cross is home to the Dine and Dance event. The idea is pretty self explanatory - you eat dinner and then participate in a free, entry level dance class. Every week it rotates between Salsa, Tango, Rock and Roll and other various styles of dance. It's the perfect way to find out your next new talent, while putting you in contact with some of Wellington's leading dance teachers.

Always has a great vibe, heaps of comfy outdoor seating and the restaraunt is amazing too!

An afternoon and evening well spent.
