St Johns is a fantastic new bar and restaurant in a waterfront location near Te Papa.

With an outstanding history as the ambulance building in the 1930's, and a great music venue in the late 80's and 90's, nowadays the modern and stylish fitout make this art deco architectural masterpiece the place to visit.

Sample some of the international beers on tap, as well as guest tap beers from Black Dog Brewery and Monteith's craft beers. There's also an extensive wine list and tempting menu, making St Johns a a great place to meet for a drink, meal or to recharge the batteries.

St Johns does great, reasonably-priced pub food just across from the Frank Kitts lagoon. Get a jug of beer and a bowl of chips delivered direct to your spot the grass outside – they’ll even bring eftpos machine over. But you’ve been warned – the bean bags are in high demand.

    Perfect for a drink in the summer, great service and atmosphere.
