Had to meet some friends here on Saturday and once again had a fabulous meal served by lovely efficient staff in their warm truly European feeling cafe. I'm growing to love this place... Its especially family friendly which always makes life easier. My kids love the food and exoticness of the place. Parking is pretty good outside too.
to rave about the interior , the interior is just absolutely wonderful . The seating is comfortable the colours are just right [for me anyway ]. At the rear exit to the garden they even supply blankets all neatly hung up in a neat row on the wall leading to the garden area to keep their keep customers warm out side at the BBQ or the event being held out side . The location and the style of the cafe do not seem to blend , the cafe restuarant is actually superior in design and decor and is very very good I never expected it to be so good . The garden and the toilet block [sorry thats a basic description] is very well laid out and that is if you can have a stylish toilet block stylishly similar to the Mt Eden locality .The garden and bbq area are just wonderful and unexpected .A reasonably big area able to cater for groups or larger group of people So after this disjointed description of the Tasca in Mt Eden I would like to finish by saying I just did not expect what I came across . Mind you you can always trust the Tasca Brand of restuarants ..
We were transported back to a little place in Spain. What a delightful little restaurant in the midst of Dominion Road. Good parking outside and nothing but warmth and a wonderful feeling inside. The staff were charming and we felt so welcome. We ordered a range of tapas from calamari, prawns, chorzio plus more and of course a paella to die for.!!!! I love my kids experiencing new things and this was a great night with unusual tastes which we all loved!! Great food, good wine and a wonderful atmosphere. Top choice!!!!
Met up with two girlfriends, for catch up and brunch, one Saturday morning. The day was blue and we sat outside. Although we had no children with us, others did, and the kids seemed to be having a good time and not impinging on our chat as the seating is well spaced. Staff were great, and all recommendations were tasty and enjoyable, and a little bit different to our usual menu. It was relaxing and enjoyable, I enjoyed my coffee but cannot comment as have it so weak, many of my friends are too embarassed to order it for me. But my request for weak one, was perfectly delicious, as far as I was concerned. I'd definitely go back, and in fact tried to once but got lost .. doh! But there will definitely be more next times.
Tasca in Mt Eden has a different vibe to its CBD version. You can come here for brunch, a boozy lunch, after-work drink, dinner or after-dinner coffee. There's a really nice courtyard out the back which is a suntrap in summer and cozy with blankets in winter. Good space for a private function if they do them. Nice meals, good cakes and friendly staff. Seems child friendly too if that's your thing.
