We recently enjoyed a night at rascasse with friends, Awesome atmosphere and great food!

Tasca has some great menu items and it can be really hard choosing a meal. Sometimes it is good, but then other times the quality is not - I've had pancakes there and they had canned fruit and whipped cream from a can! Not the quality I would expect from a cafe. However, I think if you go for the savoury options you would be safe. The chicken quesadilla is really delicious.

pancakes off the menu now (altho the fruit was not canned) - some great new items on - quesadilla will always be there!

Wasn't sure about Tasca at first as I'm always sceptical of chain cafes and I had loved the previous cafe that was there so much. The courtyard out the back is great on a sunny day but they also have outside heaters, a sheltered seating area and blankies if you get cold. The cakes at the counter always look delicious and the menu has good variety. Though they could pull out a few more vegetarian options - meat eaters like them too. ;-)

thanks for the feedback - some new vegetarian items now on menu, and we're very happy to convert other items by leaving off the meat component :-)

If you are off to any of the matches at Eden Park then make sure pre match you pop in to Tasca en Route. We had tickets to the quarter Finals between England and France and after finding a park on Grange Road headed to Tasca for pre match nibbles.  There was plenty of time to spare because we'd listened to all the advise and set off early. Tasca was pumping with English and French alike.  There was no room in the front but we were lucky enough to find a table out the back in the garden.  Here we settled with food and drinks from barbecue 'cash' bar and watched the Wales and Ireland match.   Shame we couldn't get anything off the main menu as the dishes being served looked yummy, the barbeque was quite basic. Great atmosphere and set us up for a great night at Eden Park

yes it was a brilliant atmosphere during the game nights - our basic barbecue was the only way to cope with the crowds! Hope you've managed to get back to enjoy our normal menu :-) now that the summer has finally arrived...

Nice garden out back

Yummy Spanish-influenced brunch menu, and tapas later in the day. Excellent wine selection. Just as good but less pretentious, than the likes of Belotta

woohoo! thanks Chris

Tasca has one of the best and most unique breakfast menus in Auckland. Alongside your standard eggs benne and pancakes you can get delicious homemade baked beans with chorizo or a spanish omelet or even more exotic spanish style breakfast dishes.  They also do great tapas here for later on in the day.  Possibly the best feature here though is the garden bar out the back. It is surrounded with olive trees and has a great feel and they do hire it out as a venue.

Don't be mislead by the small store front because as soon as you step out the back there are huge out door tables straight from the Mediterranean. Amazing food is served all day, breakfast, lunch and dinner is well catered for on the menu.  The brunch food is delicious from the own homemade toasted muesli with greek yoghurt through to homemade baked beans and of course the tapas selections for dinner.  Don't leave with out trying the Sangria

One of the best things about Tasca is the decor and they have a really warm, cozy ambience, all the way from the street-facing indoor area, to the Mediterranean style outdoor seating at the back. Food-wise we've had mixed experiences - the lamahjun Turkish-street-style pizza is a favourite, and the tomato lentil soup is generous and satisfying, however the tapas are pretty standard and certainly won't blow you away. The sangria is not too bad, and it's one of the few places I've seen with Quilmes (the Lion Red of Argentina) on the menu. A nice spot if you're feeling like something non-Asian in the area.

The food and atmosphere here is wonderful in summer for a cheeky afternoon sangria. The service is also really good. There is a guy there called Steve that serves us. He always takes an interest in who you are and remember you by name. I like that. That makes it feel local
