Had a wonderful afternoon yesterday, started with a glass of wine in the VIP tent (thanks to Localist) great cooking ddemonstrations by Rick Stein & Annabel Langbein. Wonderful dishes to savour - don't miss Cocoro's Tiger Prawns & District Dining's Pork Belly. The exhibitors are great all well presented. Nice music apart from the Samba drums which competed with the visiting Chefs - that's why I didn't give it 5 stars, I actually went Wednesday night, poured down but still very busy, saw Gary Rhodes demonstration & tasted & bought various food & wines around- some lovely nougat, yum! I definitely feel you need to go to 2 sessions to take it all in. A great annual event that I wouldn't miss
I wasn't sure what to expect from Taste - but loved it. Victoria Park with its border of lush and leafy plane trees blocking out the city is the perfect venue - it was lovely looking up from between the tents from time to time and seeing this thick canopy of bright green towering over us framing the whole experience. The dishes we tried were fantastic. It's a great way to try a variety of mini dishes from some of Auckland's best restaurants. Thanks for the great night!
