One of my favourite local comforts is picking up a tray of chicken satay skewers from the Thai Kitchen and eating them all on the drive home. This is crispy, tasty chicken breast smothered in Thai spices and a delicious, finger-licking good satay sauce. It's so good my mouth starts watering as soon as I think about it.
Nestled in the heart of the shops on the main drag in Henderson, this family-owned Thai restaurant has been one of the city’s best for many years. Good, honest, comforting fare is what the Thai Kitchen has specialised in for decades and I’ve been picking weekly takeaways up for 14 years now with no disappointment. I always order the Gai Med or their excellent Panang red curry.
Thai Kitchen is a firm West Auckland favourite and for good reason. The decor may be sparse but the food is top notch - tasty, generous and made with love. The Chicken & cashews is a classic, and the spiciness of their fierier dishes can be adjusted to suit your adventurous (or timid) tastes. Grab it all to go for a Thai feast at home.
My husband and I have been getting takeaways here for 14 years and it is the only Thai restaurant I can choose out west because their food is exceptional - every time. I've probably eaten their chicken and cashew dish over 650 times and it's never, ever disappointed. It's also a great little place to eat in with family and friends after a trip home from the west coast beaches. It's on the main drag in the Henderson shops. Look for the blue and white sign - you can't miss it!
Thai Kitchen is always first on the list of restaurants to go when our group of friends gets together. It's conveniently located on the main road in Henderson, plenty of parking out the back. The restaurant decor is basic but the food is phenomenal! Authentic Thai restaurant, run by lovely Thai people who always have a smile for their customers!
