A visit to Mapua is not complete without a coffee, lunch or dinner at the Apple Shed. This well known restaurant has it all- great views out over the Waimea river mouth to Rabbit Island, delicious local food of a high standard and a great atmosphere - it makes the most of Mapua's heritage as the fruit export hub for the region.
Another great evening dining venue in Mapua. The Apple Shed is in a prime location with great views of the inlet from inside and out, so perfect for a cooler evening. The dessert menu has, of course lots of fruit - locally grown apples, boysenberries and feijoas have all the flavour you’d expect in a region known for its orchards and fresh produce. Enjoy a yummy Granny Smith apple zeppole with salted caramel sauce and vanilla bean ice cream while you watch the yachts sway at anchor in the Mapua inlet.
